A theatrical native mobile application for AlloCiné.

The company

AlloCiné is an entertainment website belonged to the company since 2013 Webedia. It’s specializes in providing information on French cinema, mostly centering on novelties' promotion with DVD, Blu-ray, and VOD information.

Project type: Mobile native ApplicationKey Skills: User Research, Design System, UX Workshops, Prototyping, UI DesignTimeframe: 2 years

Role : Product Lead Designer

The Problem

Collaboration, Tools, and User Focus

The company had several problems: teams were working separately with little sharing, tools and ways of working were not efficient, there was poor communication, and no contact with users. This made the work slower, less effective, and not focused on real user needs.

Step 1 : Build a product team process ⚙️

We built a process to show every steps in a project from the beggining to infinity and beyond. That methodology allowed to frame teams and be align to the same purpose.

What we've done

Picture

Identified the team’s pain points from the past

Picture

Step 2 : Understand the users need 🤔

First of all we had to know our users : who are they, what they need, there relation with the product, pain points, gain points, frustration etc...

What we've done

Picture

Made quantitative analysis with Google Analytics for segmented our users.

Picture

Made qualitative analysis by organised users interviews : hiring users, organized remote sessions, built a quiz game and then made it happened.

Picture

Reported all of the data in a doc and built persona.

Step 3 : Build a Design System 🧩

Because the Allociné application didn’t have a design language, we started to build a design system that gathers design principles, components, a brand style guide, design tokens, and icons. We developed it with light and dark modes, for iOS and Android, for all brands.

Why we had to do it

Picture

Ensures a uniform look and feel across the app, enhancing user experience.

Picture

Streamlines the design and development process, saving time and resources.

Picture

Facilitates easier updates and additions as the app grows.

Picture

Improves communication between designers and developers, reducing misunderstandings.

Picture

Helps users navigate the app intuitively, as familiar patterns are used.
